Dr. Samah AL-Saied

Deputy Director of UDC.

Samah is a Lecturer of English Lit/Drama at English Department, Faculty of Arts, Mansoura University. As well as, she is the head of Combating Violence against Women Unit at Mansoura University, from February 2017 until now.

She is the coordinator of Alumni Association at Mansoura University from November 2020 until now.

She is a fellow of the Institution of Foreign Cultural Relations of the German Federal Foreign Office (IFA).

She is an expert in Civic Education with a TOI certification from the Center for Applied Policy Research (CAP) at the Ludwig-Maximilian University of Munich, Germany.

She is a graduate of Progress and Dialogue Program, Goethe Institute, Cairo.

She is an Executive Committee Member of the Arab Youth Forum for Dialogue and Followers of Religions, a forum organized by KAICIID/ King Abdullah Bin Abdul-Aziz International Centre for Dialogue.

She is a translator and editor in “Qesatha” –her story- Campaign, of the UN-Women. She is a graduate of “Kun Safirran” –be an ambassador- Program. Of the National Institution for Governance and Sustainable Development, of the Egyptian Ministry of Planning and Economic Development.

She worked, for three years from 2015 to 2019, as the Coordinator of Project HOPES (Higher and Further Education Opportunities and Perspectives for Syrians) - A regional project funded by the EU to offer services for the refugees in Higher Education at Mansoura University.

From 2016 to 2020, she worked as the Chairwoman of Girls Empowerment Committee, at the University.

In February 2021, she obtained her PhD Degree with honors in English Literature, in Feminist Theater and Gender Studies.She obtained her M.A Degree with General Excellent Degree in English Lit/Drama (The Political Theatre of Modern and Post-Modern England) in 2015.

In 2012, she got Fulbright Scholarship at the University of New Hampshire in the U.S.
